Telford is one of the larger patches in the Goodchild’s / Newton Fallowell Network. With an estimated population (for the borough) of 170,300 in 2010 and around 155,000 in Telford itself, Telford is the largest town in Shropshire, and one of the fastest-growing towns in the United Kingdom. It is named after civil engineer Thomas Telford, who engineered many road and rail projects in Shropshire. Having an eclectic mix of older period properties dating back to the industrial revolution and one of the most ambitious new build projects in the country, the town is thriving and very property centric.

Telford Centre is a hub of activity from its popular shopping centre to its mix of restaurants and bars, ice rink and town park. There are also many smaller towns surrounding Telford including Ironbridge, the birthplace of the industrial revolution. Here you will find a range of public houses and restaurants close to the River Severn and a range of historical museums providing days of entertainment for the family.

Towards the west of Telford lies Wellington, a market town known for its proximity to the Wrekin. The Wrekin is a popular walking destination with views towards the welsh hills and mountains, Shropshire plain and west midlands. Job opportunities are high in the Telford area as many larger businesses have relocated to the business parks and I54 in recent years. People choose to live in Telford mainly as house prices are traditionally cheaper than surrounding areas such as Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton meaning you get more property for your money. That combined with a vast array of new build homes means the area is becoming ever more popular.

The main transport links in Telford are the M54 which runs east to west through the conurbation. With four junctions it is the quickest way to travel as well as the Queensway which travels from North to south. The town also has four train stations, Oakengates, Wellington, Shifnal and Telford Centre making commuting between Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and London (with new direct rail links) easy.
